Brian Trammell

Brian Trammell has been interested in measuring the Internet since his university days as a sysadmin. He currently manages a Site Reliability Engineering team at Google, working on Borg, a cluster operating system. This follows a decade-long career as a researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, where he focused on Internet performance measurement and the deployability and evolvability of Internet protocols.

In addition to co-chairing the MAT Working Group, he also co-chairs the Path Aware Networking Research Group at the IRTF and contributes to the QUIC and Transport Services working groups. In the past, he has served as co-chair of the IPPM IP Performance Measurement Working Group and as a member of the Internet Architecture Board, and was involved in the development and standardisation of IPFIX.
