Henk opens the meeting at 9:10 and welcomes all attendees.
He outlines the agenda and introduces the first speaker: himself.


B. Administrivia

Minutes of RIPE 44 approved.
He announces that the chair (Keith) can not make it anymore to most
meetings and that he has resigned. So the WG is looking for a new chair.

Q: Are there other projects similar to the TTM project?
A: Yes, we are aware of that and are in close contact with them.


D. Discussion on TTM Business Plans

Henk asked whether the hosts would agree to lower the fee if there agreed
to publish more measurement data.

Daniel pointed out that publishing more data and seeing the TTM project as
a measurements infrastructure that benefits the whole community.

Henk mentioned the example of computer magazines.

Q: Is there a special reason to use a static address?
A: Yes, we need a way to identify the packet.


F. Root/GTLD Server Monitor - Daniel Karrenberg
-----------------------------------------------
What people do is take a certain point on the net and measure all root
servers. This doesn't work as you want to measure from a realistic point
in the network.

Also ICMP is a BAD test, as the service of ICMP requests doesn't say
anything about the service level of DNS requests.

Questions:

Q: How will this work when anycast is enabled?
A: We measure service and not machines so that is not an issue
