WG Chair Biographies
Rob Evans
Rob Evans is chief network architect in the infrastructure division of Jisc, where he works on Janet, the UK's Research and Education Network. He has a diverse network engineering background with experience in a number of institutions. From 2014-2016, he served as a member of TERENA Technical Committee and also served as a member of UKNOF Programme Committee from 2005-2012. He was also a member of the programme committee for The Networking Conference, the flagship event at Géant.
From 2006 to 2016, Rob was the RIPE NCC Routing Working Group co-chair. As of 2019, he now serves as co-Chair of the RIPE NCC Services Working Group.
Kurtis Lindqvist
Kurtis Lindqvist has a broad background in engineering and business development of ISP and worldwide carrier networks. He has spent the past 20 years working actively in the Internet community in several varied roles. From 2002 to 2015, he was the CEO of Netnod. Since 2003, he has also been the chairman of Euro-IX. And between 2005-2009, Kurtis served as a member of the Internet Architecture Board. Additionally, he has participated actively in the development, standardisation, and deployment of IPv6 in the IETF and various other operational forums.
Kurtis has served as the RIPE NCC Services Working Group co-chair since 2004. He is a regular and appreciated speaker at several international Internet conferences such as RIPE, APRICOT, and NANOG.
Bijal Sanghani
Bijal Sanghani is Secretary General at Euro-IX based in London, UK. Her past experience includes DNS management for DEMON Internet, Provisioning Engineer at Level 3 and Senior Operations Engineer at FLAG Telecom and Reliance Globalcom, where she was involved from the beginning to build the FLAG IP network.
In 2011, Bijal moved from an operational role to the top management role at Euro-IX, a non-profit membership association for IXPs. In her role, she brings the members together to share ideas and experiences on technical, commercial and regulatory matters, and works on other IXP related projects such as the IXPDB and support programsto help IXPs in need. Bijal has grown the membership by over 90% since she started in 2011.
Bijal has been involved with the Peering and Interconnect Community since 2003, she’s been a RIPE NCC Services Working Group Co-chair since 2005 and served on the UKNOF Program Committee from 2006 until 2014. Bijal was elected on to the PeeringDB Board in 2017 where she currently serves as a Director.
