RIPE NCC Services Working Group
Traditionally, RIPE NCC services had always been part of the agenda of the LIR Working Group. Other working groups also touched upon the same subjects. The 2002 RIPE NCC Membership Survey indicated that RIPE NCC members and other interested parties wanted to have better defined channels to discuss various aspects of RIPE NCC services. This working group replaced the LIR Working Group.
This working group discusses:
- Performance of existing RIPE NCC services
- The introduction of new services and tools
- An ongoing evaluation of the RIPE NCC Activity Plan
Please contact the RIPE NCC Services Working Group chairs if you are interested in contributing to this charter.
The IPMT DEV Mailing List
This archived mailing list preceeded the RIPE NCC Services Working Group as a forum for the development of tools specifically for Local Internet Registries.
RIPE NCC Services Working Group Chair Selection Process
The RIPE NCC Services Working Group shall have at least two working group chairs and a maximum of three. The RIPE NCC Services WG Chairs are selected for a two-year period, and one of the chairs will stand down every year. The chair not standing down shall make a call for interested parties on the RIPE NCC Services WG mailing list. Interested parties then have a two-week period to make their interest known. After this, the chair(s) not up for selection will issue a two-week discussion period where the RIPE NCC Services WG community can express approval or otherwise for the candidates that have expressed interest. At the end of the two-week discussion period the chair(s) not up for selection will call consensus for the candidate(s). Appeals will follow the normal WG chair appeal process from the RIPE PDP.
