Voting Report

There were six items to be voted on at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) May 2019 - five resolutions and the RIPE NCC Executive Board election.

2,159 members registered to vote, and 1,840 members cast their ballots. Not all 1,840 members cast their ballots on all items to be voted on.

Resolutions 1, 2, and 5 needed a majority of Yes votes or No votes to be either approved or rejected. Resolution 4 needed a two-thirds majority of Yes votes to be approved. For Resolution 3, the option receiving the majority of votes would be approved. 

In the election, there were two seats to be filled. A candidate needed more than 50% to be elected to the board. If no candidate received more than 50%, the candidate with the fewest first preference votes was eliminated from the count and their next preference votes transferred to the other candidates. This process was repeated until one of the candidates had more than 50% of the votes. The same system applied for both seats, with the candidate who won the first seat excluded for the second seat.

Verifying your vote

All those who voted electronically could choose to receive an email receipt that allows them to verify that their vote was recorded correctly. To verify your vote, you will need to use your browser's search engine to find your receipt. There are fewer voting receipts than total votes because some voters represented more than one member and carried the voting rights for these members.

Resolution 1

"The General Meeting adopts the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2018.”

Resolution 2

"The General Meeting discharges the Executive Board with regard to its actions as they appear from the Annual Report 2018 and Financial Report 2018.”

The resolution was approved.

Resolution 3

"The General Meeting approves the adoption of the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2020 option that received the absolute majority of the votes cast.”

The General Meeting approved RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2020 Option A.

Resolution 4

"The General Meeting approves the amendments to the RIPE NCC Articles of Association.”

The resolution was approved.

Resolution 5

"The General Meeting approves the amendments to the RIPE NCC Standard Services Agreement.”

The resolution was approved.

First Seat

Ondřej Filip was elected to the first seat.

Second seat

Remco van Mook was elected to the second seat.
