Required Documents for Registry Updates and Policy Transfers

For the transfer to be processed, a registered contact or an authorised person (e.g. senior manager, legal successor) of the involved parties need to submit a request to the RIPE NCC.

Requesting updates to your registry information requires additional documentation depending on the nature of the update. This page lists the documents you will need to supply for each case.

Policy Transfers of Internet Number Resources

For Policy Transfers of Internet number resources, the following documents are required:

  • The transfer agreement signed by both parties. This agreement must be signed by company directors that are legally authorised to sign/act on behalf of the organisation
  • For each of the parties involved in the transfer:
    • Legal persons: Recent registration document from the the relevant national authorities.
    • Natural persons: A digital copy of the passport or another valid ID document. The validity of the document will be verified by a third party called iDenfy.

In addition to the above, the following document is required when Provider Independent (PI) IPv4/IPv6 addresses or ASNs are being transferred to a party that is not a member of the RIPE NCC:

In the case of a merger or acquisition, the following documents are required:

  • Recent company registration papers for all entities that are involved
  • An official document issued by a national authority supporting the change in business structure

If the transferring party no longer exists by the time the RIPE NCC is being involved:

  • An official document issued by a national authority confirming the closure of the transferring party

If such an agreement is not available, the RIPE NCC may accept a confirmation of the transfer to the RIPE NCC signed by an authorised person (e.g., senior manager, legal successor) of the receiving party.

After submission of these documents, the RIPE NCC will prepare a new Standard Service Agreement to be signed by the receiving party.

In case the transferring and receiving party both still exist, after signing the Standard Service Agreement:

  • The transfer agreement signed by both parties. This agreement must be signed by company directors that are legally authorised to sign/act on behalf of the organisation.
