About the RIPE NCC

The RIPE NCC is a not-for-profit organisation founded on the belief that the Internet should be governed openly, transparently and together with the wider Internet community. We are one of the oldest Internet organisations in Europe and are proud of our legacy.

We employ the brightest talent and believe in our staff to work towards our vision to "together, shape the future of the Internet" without the bureaucracy, inefficiency and politics that can come from a top-down hierarchical structure.

We believe in an open, bottom-up and transparent Internet governance model and want to reflect that internally too. That’s why we are in the midst of a transition to a self-organised structure called Holacracy. Instead of a top-down management structure, we have purpose-driven circles. Instead of job descriptions, our employees hold a number of roles with a defined purpose and accountabilities.

The power of Holacracy is that it allows a circle to make decisions to help achieve its purpose, rather than pushing a decision upwards. It also allows our employees to move across the organisation and use their skills and knowledge across typical ‘department’ boundaries.

We are all learning this new way of working together and it's very exciting! Do you want to join us on this journey?
