 The RIPE NCC is looking for a:

Marketing and Communications Officer
Location: Amsterdam Central Station
37.5 hours per week (four days per week is possible)

 As a Marketing and Communications Officer, you will be responsible for marketing and communications projects aimed at improving the awareness of our tools and services to our members. Our organisation’s portfolio of services is vast and we need help communicating these effectively to our members. Internally, we need you to collaborate with different parts of the organisation to ensure we’re aligned on key messages and the roll-out of new projects. You will work both internally with our colleagues from more than 30 different backgrounds and externally with our membership and the wider Internet community. 

 In this role you will:

  • Coordinate, support and collaborate with multiple teams across the organisation on a variety of communications projects
  • Develop communication campaigns for our membership software
  • Research and analyse market trends, demographics, and other information that affects our communication strategies for tools and services such as RIPE Atlas and RIPEstat.
  • Maintain and improve our social media communications strategy
  • Support in the organisation of large-scale industry conferences at home and abroad
  • Write, edit and proof a variety of documentation (e.g. technical, organisational, web content, newsletters, company announcements)

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least three years’ experience in:
  • Marketing and communications, experience with developing marketing/branding and communications plan and the implementation/ execution of the plan
  • Up-to-date social media experience – especially on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
  • A proficient writer, turning out high-quality text in a variety of mediums for print and digital  
  • Experience in marketing and branding projects or campaigns and marketing KPI's
  • Competencies: strong communication and interpersonal skills, pro-active, team-player, flexible
  • Native English speaker

This job requires some travelling to various locations throughout Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, usually a minimum of twice per year (5-7 days per trip).

It would be nice if you could also:

  • Previous experience working in an international environment
  • Affinity with Internet infrastructure and technologies
  • A proven ability to be innovative and creative problem solver

  • An annual salary between EUR 42,600 and EUR 61,300 (before tax) for a fulltime week (37,5 hours per week). This includes the standard 8% annual “holiday pay” and a 5% end-of-year bonus. And the option to work 80%

The vast cutting-edge service portfolio of the RIPE NCC and range of technical knowledge of our audience requires creativity, innovation and the ability to keep pace with the rapidly changing tech landscape. You will join a highly-skilled and evolving team and have the ability to work as a seamless unit, but also break off into their own projects. The RIPE NCC is a not-for-profit organisation founded on the belief that the Internet should be governed openly, transparently and together with the wider Internet community. We are one of the oldest Internet organisations in Europe and are proud of our legacy.
