RIPE NCC Roundtable Meeting Gathers Regulators and Law Enforcement in Brussels
These invitation-only Roundtable Meetings are organised twice each year by the RIPE NCC to facilitate better communication with governments and increase understanding on both sides. The agenda focuses on issues of relevance to governments, the RIPE community and the RIPE NCC. The topics covered on Wednesday included the evolving RIPE NCC membership, regulatory challenges surrounding the Internet of Things, the IANA stewardship transition, RIPE NCC coordination with law enforcement and government participation in the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP).
The meeting was organised in coordination with the European Commission to allow for wider government participation, and was part of the Internet Governance Week in Brussels. Events over the course of the week included the open planning session for EuroDIG 2016 (the European Dialogue on Internet Governance, which will be held in Brussels in June) and an initial meeting on the ICANN Government Advisory Committee (GAC) Public Safety Working Group (PSWG) in which the RIPE NCC participated.
Presentation slides from the Roundtable Meeting are available.
