RIPE 84 Student Event Recording Available
We invited students to join us for this virtual session understanding how the Internet works with leading experts Bert Hubert, Franziska Lichtblau and Mirjam Kühne. Each speaker shared a bit about how the Internet works, followed by questions and open discussions.
Bert Hubert, the founder of PowerDNS, dove into what he means by controlling the Internet, and who he thinks runs it, and what it means to be a network engineer. Franziska Lichtblau spoke about the importance of Internet measurements Mirjam Kühne, RIPE Chair, introduced the RIPE community and its role in running the Internet, and the bottom-up policy development process used, and most importantly – what your role in it could be!
