CAPIF 5

The fifth edition of Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum (CAPIF 5) will take place from 24-25 September 2025.

CAPIF is a regional platform for promoting and facilitating the exchange of Internet traffic between Internet service providers (ISPs) in Central Asia. The aim of the forum is to enhance interconnectivity and improve the quality of Internet services in the region.

CAPIF 5 is organised in cooperation with the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Ahead of the main event, RIPE NCC will offer training courses on 21–23 September 2026, including Basic IPv6 Security and Advanced IPv6.

One of the main goals of CAPIF is to encourage the growth of local Internet communities and to support the development of local content and applications. The forum also aims to promote the use of local Internet exchanges, which provide a cost-effective and efficient way for ISPs to exchange traffic and reduce their dependence on international transit.

The event is designed to support the needs of the peering and interconnection community from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran to neighbouring regions.

Here are some topics covered at CAPIF meetings:

  • IXPs in the region
  • Internet Peering
  • Hosting CDNs
  • IPv6 deployment
  • Network measurement and security tools
  • Regional Connectivity
  • BGP and routing security
  • Content delivery
