An IPv6 Fundamentals – Analyst is proficient in calculating IPv6 subnets according to current best practices and creating IPv6 addressing plans. Candidates with this certification have demonstrated the ability to identify and describe how the different IPv6 supporting protocols work and impact their networks. These candidates can also identify different use cases for specific transition mechanisms, as well as the reasons to migrate from IPv4 to IPv6.

Requirements to earn the IPv6 Fundamentals Analyst Badge

The IPv6 Fundamentals Analyst badge can be earned by completing the IPv6 Fundamentals Analyst Exam. The exam takes place online. You will be asked to answer 50 questions during the exam. To pass the exam, you must score a minimum of 70%.

IPv6 Fundamentals Analyst Badge

This exam certifies the ability to:

  • Identify the advantages of IPv6 deployment
  • Write an IPv6 address according to the best current practices
  • Identify the scope of the different IPv6 address types
  • Calculate IPv6 subnets
  • Identify the different IPv6-related protocols
  • Identify the different characteristics and security concerns of the IPv6 protocol
  • Create an IPv6 addressing plan
  • Recognise the application of specific IPv6 transition mechanisms

Recommended Knowledge:

  • At least three months of experience in working with IPv6 addresses and creating an IPv6 addressing plan, or participation in the IPv6 training courses (face-to-face or online)
  • Proficiency with writing and compressing IPv6 addresses
  • Experience with IPv6 subnetting
  • Knowledge of best current practices in IPv6
