RIPE NCC and Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sign MoU

The RIPE NCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Uzbektelecom, the largest telecommunication operator in Uzbekistan, on 9 February 2023.

The MoU aims to promote Internet coordination activities to support the development of the Internet in Uzbekistan. The parties will focus on capacity-building efforts through training courses, meetings, and workshops relevant to both the RIPE community and the technical community in Uzbekistan.

The RIPE NCC, the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Uzbektelecom will also promote the use of RIPE Atlas and the Routing Information Service (RIS), as well as the deployment and use of IPv6 among the technical community in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to promote cooperation with academia and the development of Internet exchange points (IXPs) in the country.

The MoU was signed by Hans Petter Holen, Managing Director of the RIPE NCC, Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and Nazirjon Hasanov, General Director of Uzbektelecom.
