A Week of Internet Networking Events in Athens, Greece

Greece will host the twelfth edition of the South East Europe Meeting (SEE 12) taking place in Athens on 22-23 April 2024. SEE 12 provides a unique opportunity for network operators and community professionals to engage, learn, and contribute to the evolving Internet landscape in Greece and the local region.

SEE 12 is a key meeting in a week-long programme of events focusing on the future development of Internet networking in the South East European region. Taking place in Athens from 19 April 2024, the week is dedicated to advancing Internet networking, where professionals from various sectors can connect, share insights, and shape the future of Internet operations in Greece and the region.

  1. GRNOG 16 (19 April 2024): Kickstarting the week, the Greek Network Operators Group (GRNOG) will host its 16th meeting. This one-day event will gather Internet service professionals to discuss local Internet operation trends. Attendees will benefit from talks and discussions led by industry experts in either Greek or English. Participation is free of charge.
  2. EARN 2024 (20-21 April 2024): Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the European Academic and Research Network (EARN), the two-day conference will commemorate EARN's pivotal role in pioneering computer networking in Europe. This is an excellent occasion for networking veterans and newcomers to explore the history and future of Internet networking. Attendance is free and open to all interested parties.
  3. SEE 12 (22-23 April 2024): This RIPE NCC Regional Meeting offers a two-day forum for network engineers and technical staff across South East Europe to exchange knowledge and experiences. The event aims to foster regional cooperation, support Local Internet Registries, and address specific issues affecting operators in the region. Participation is open to everyone at no cost. If you want to get involved and present at the meeting, please send your content proposals before the second call of presentations closes on 1 March 2024.
  4. RIPE NCC South East European Roundtable for Governments and Regulators (22 April 2024): Held alongside SEE 12, this invitation-only roundtable meeting will bring together government bodies and regulators. Discussions will focus on supporting Internet development in the SEE region, including Internet governance evolution, the EU Cyber Resilience Act and IPv6 success stories.
