The IPv6 Working Group recently evaluated a draft Recommendation from an ITU Study Group on IPv6 addressing for the Internet of Things.

On 31 January 2018, the RIPE NCC held a one-day workshop for Russian Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in Moscow. The workshop was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation and attracted 19 participants.
The RIPE NCC and the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Name Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the APTLD 72 meeting in Tbilisi on 14 September 2017.

RIPE NCC and Russian Government (Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation) Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
The RIPE NCC held a Train-the-Trainer session in Tehran, Iran from 25 February to 1 March 2017.
From today, the RIPE NCC performs registry functions for IPv6 Endpoint ID (EID) prefixes for Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP). LISP is an experimental "map-and-encapsulate" protocol developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF's) LISP Working Group. The IANA has assigned an IPv6 prefix for LISP EID space in accordance with RFC7954, which the RIPE NCC is now managing in accordance with RFC7955.
Following a liaison statement that the RIPE NCC received on behalf of Study Group 20 of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), we recently supplied our feedback to the group. The Study Group is set to study the "IoT and its applications, including smart cities and communities (SC&C)". The RIPE NCC was invited to participate because the group is working to develop recommendations that relate to IPv6. A similar liaison statement was received by our colleagues at the other RIRs. As a Sector Member of the ITU, the RIPE NCC has attended the previous meetings of Study Group 20 and will continue to follow the development of these recommendations closely.
Muscat, 28 September 2016: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Oman, in cooperation with RIPE NCC, held a series of IPv6 technical training workshops from 26–28 September 2016 at TRA’s headquarters in Muscat, Oman. Staff from eight private and governmental bodies participated in the workshops.
