The smooth running of the Internet depends on the involvement of those who give their input on membership and policy issues. And there are many ways to get involved, online and in person.

RIPE is a forum open to all parties interested in wide area IP networks. The objective of RIPE is to ensure the administrative and technical coordination necessary to enable the operation of the Internet.

The RIPE community's strength comes from its breadth of experience, diversity of views, and an open, respectful exchange of ideas. These are values that we want all of our community members to uphold.

Find out more about how to become a member, get important information about managing Internet number resources, and find out how to join membership discussions and meetings.

Much of the work carried out by the RIPE community takes place in Working Groups, Task Forces and less formal Birds of a Feather (BoF) gatherings.

The RIPE NCC engages in a range of activities that can be defined as “Internet governance”. These activities include working with the technical community, governments, regulators, civil society and law enforcement agencies.
