Exploring the future of Internet governance in the age of tech sovereignty

This session will look at the next steps in Internet governance and implementing the WSIS+20 and GDC, in a context where governments are increasingly pursuing national interests and tech sovereignty agendas. We will also examine the future role of the IGF and the WSIS framework in shaping global cooperation in Internet and digital governance.

Our CEO, Hans Petter Holen will give a primer into the RIPE NCC’s current priorities, with a focus on security and compliance, and some of the latest developments relevant to the governance of the Regional Internet Registries (RIR).

Supporting open standards for Internet scalability, resilience and security

This session will explore the most recent developments in the universe of Internet technical standards. We will also consider how multi-stakeholder approaches to incentivise the deployment of key Internet open standards, which have allowed for devices to communicate seamlessly across networks with different underlying technologies, thus guaranteeing interoperability.
