RIPE PDP Update

Policy Proposal 2026-01 (simplify assignment of first ASN): this new proposal has been submitted for Discussion. Please provide your feedback on the Address Policy mailing list before 5 August 2026.

Policy Proposal 2024-01 (Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy): the RIPE NCC will announce the start of the Review Phase together with the publication of the impact analysis and the policy draft.

A Farewell to ARPs

IPv6-only networks can still rely on IPv4 subnets and ARP. This article explores an IETF proposal that removes both, delivering IPv4 as a service over IPv6-only infrastructure without translation or tunnelling.

Reminder: RIPE 93 Call for Presentations and Registration Open

The Call for Presentations for RIPE 93, taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 26-30 October 2026, is open. RIPE 93 will be a hybrid meeting, and both in-person and virtual presentations are welcome. The deadline to submit talks for the Plenary is 14 August 2026.

RIPE 95: Call for Host and Sponsors

Are you interested in hosting the RIPE 95 Meeting in Madrid at the Meliá Castilla Hotel from 15-19 November 2027? We are inviting organisations within Spain to submit a proposal to be considered as the meeting host. The deadline for submissions is 30 October 2026.

RIPE NCC Academy Launches Summer School 2026

The RIPE NCC Academy is launching the RIPE NCC Academy Summer School 2026. Throughout July and August, learners who complete a RIPE NCC Academy e-learning course will receive a free certification exam voucher. To earn a digital badge, learners must claim and use the voucher to pass their exam of choice until 31 August 2026.
