RIPE Community Selects New Chair, Vice-Chair

Mirjam Kühne has been chosen to serve again as RIPE Chair, following her term from 2020-2025. Anna Wilson will take over as RIPE Vice-Chair from Niall O’Reilly at RIPE 91 in October 2025. Niall's term also started in 2020.
Mirjam Kühne has been an active member of the RIPE community almost since its beginning and has worked in community building at the RIPE NCC and in programme management at the Internet Society (ISOC). In her first term as RIPE Chair, Mirjam focused on increasing the inclusivity and diversity of the RIPE community, supporting efforts such as the RIPE Diversity Task Force, the RIPE Code of Conduct Task Force, RIPE Fellowship and mentorship programmes, and other initiatives designed to ensure all RIPE community members feel welcome and empowered to contribute.
Anna Wilson has been a longtime RIPE community member and served as chair for two RIPE Working Groups. She was also a member of the ASO AC and participated in other technical communities such as GÉANT, from which she received the GÉANT Community Award in recognition of her work.
According to the RIPE Chair Selection Process, a RIPE Nominating Committee (NomCom) is formed from community members who are chosen at random from a wider pool of volunteers. After a call for nominations, the NomCom then solicits feedback on the candidates from the community before making a final decision, after which the RIPE NCC Executive Board confirms whether the process was followed correctly. This is the second time that the RIPE Chair and Vice-Chair have been selected by the community according to an established procedure.
Mirjam Kühne and Anna Wilson will serve for a term of five years, starting from RIPE 91 in October.
The RIPE NCC looks forward to working with both Mirjam and Anna over the coming years.
