Electronic Voting at the NRO NC Election 2016

The election for a seat on the NRO NC will take place during the RIPE 73 Meeting to be held in Madrid, Spain from 24-28 October 2016. All members of the RIPE community who are registered to attend RIPE 73 may vote in the election.

The voting for this election will be conducted electronically for the first time. The RIPE NCC has engaged BigPulse, an external company that specialises in web-based voting solutions, to conduct the poll. No paper ballots will be issued. Each RIPE 73 attendee will have one vote. The nominee with the most votes will be elected.

All votes cast during the NRO NC election are completely anonymous.

Casting a Vote at the NRO NC Election

Before voting opens, all those who are checked in to attend RIPE 73 – with the exception of Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff – will receive an invitation to register to vote in the NRO NC election. Registration to vote closes at 18:00 on Thursday, 27 October. After this time, registered voters will receive a voting link. This is a personal auto-sign-in link that enables the user to cast one vote.

Voting opens at 19:00 UTC+2 on Thursday, 27 October 2016. From this time, all people with a link can access the voting pages and cast their vote.

Votes can be cast until 10:30 UTC+2 on Friday, 28 October.
