The first K-root server in Uzbekistan has been deployed by UZINFOCOM. The official launch ceremony took place during the second Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum on 19 September 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The presence of the K-root server in Uzbekistan aims to increase the stability of DNS operations in Uzbekistan. It will also help speed up the process of accessing web resources for local users and will reduce dependence on foreign servers. During the testing phase, prior to the launch, the K-root server in Tashkent was already answering 250 queries per second.

UZINFOCOM is a Single Integrator for the creation and support of state information systems of Uzbekistan.

The RIPE NCC operates k.root-servers.net, one of the 13 Internet root name servers. The K-root service is provided by a set of distributed nodes using IPv4 and IPv6 anycast.
