Roundtable Meeting for Arab Governments in Saudi Arabia

Saudi roundtable HR.jpeg

The meeting followed the success of our first Roundtable Meeting in Bahrain last year, and was attended by ICT Ministries and Regulators from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Yemen and Iraq.

The focus of the day was on the opportunities and challenges faced by Middle East countries as they look to further-develop their Internet sectors. Attendees discussed regional statistics and analysis presented by our staff, the support we can offer regulators, the impact of GDPR and other regulations on RIPE NCC operations, and the recent engagement of the Law Enforcement community in the RIPE Policy Development Process.

We would like to thank the Saudi Communications & Information Technology Commission for its help in organising the event. These meetings have proved to be an effective way to support cooperation on Internet matters between countries in the region.
