At the General Meeting, members voted to approve the following resolution:
"The General Meeting approves the ability of RIPE NCC members to create additional LIR accounts."
Members had always been able to open additional LIR accounts until the RIPE NCC Executive Board suspended this ability in November 2015. The resolution approved by members at the GM reinstates the ability to open additional accounts.
Now the RIPE NCC is working on improved procedures to accept new applications for additional LIR accounts. Members will be informed as soon as the resolution is implemented.
NOTE: This news announcement was updated 20 June 2016 to clarify that the ability to open additional LIR accounts is not a new process and the resolution approved by members just removes the temporary suspension that was in place from November 2015 to May 2016.
