RIPE Academic Cooperation Initiative (RACI)

What is RACI?

The RIPE Academic Cooperation Initiative (RACI) connects members of the academic community with the RIPE community by inviting students and researchers to present their Internet-related research at RIPE Meetings, ENOG, MENOG and SEE meetings.

RACI Attendee RIPE68

The RIPE community has strong ties with the academic community ever since the beginning of the Internet in Europe, and the goal of RACI is to strengthen those ties while promoting the work of talented researchers and academics in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Showcasing Ideas

RACI gives students and researchers the opportunity to present their work in front of some the leading technical figures in the Internet world, receive feedback on their research from experts and have their work published on the RIPE Labs website for community feedback.

Funding and Benefits

RACI provides complimentary tickets to the RIPE Meetings, ENOG, MENOG and SEE meetings. RIPE Meetings last five days and regularly attract over 500 attendees from the Internet community. ENOG, MENOG and SEE take place several times a year throughout our service region and take place over 1-3 days. The tickets entitle the successful applicants to attend all meeting sessions, lunches, and social events at the meeting venue. RACI will also pay for and organise transport to/from the meeting, as well as accommodation for the duration of the meeting. This is an outstanding opportunity for students and researchers to present their research and network with some of the key figures in the Internet world.

The initiative is coordinated with the RIPE Programme Committee to allow the RACI attendees to present their research at meetings, either during plenary/working group sessions, or in lightning talks at other designated sessions.
