RIPE NCC Open House - Internet Country Report: Central Europe

Thursday, 29 June | 10:00 - 11:00 UTC (12:00 - 13:00 CEST)

The new RIPE NCC Internet Report, focusing on Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland, was presented on June 29 from 10:00 to 11:00 (UTC).

This detailed analysis surveyed the existing IPv4 and IPv6 resource dispositions in these nations, the evolution of their Internet industries, and a forecast of their potential for future growth. The report also inspected the region's connection to the K-root name server, the manner in which data traffic is managed within the area, and the varied pathways and service providers enabling international access.

This report joins the latest in our series of insights centered on diverse countries and regions, with an objective to provide local tech communities and policymakers a comprehensive understanding of issues relevant to their specific region.

During the Open House session, we highlighted key insights from the report, sparking an open discussion among all participants about the challenges, hurdles, and opportunities the tech community in these nations may face. The dialogue covered a broad range of topics including IPv6 deployment, peering and IXPs, and the possible measurement tools that can aid daily operations.
