Open Dialogue on Current and Future Challenges in Internet Governance 

Discussions on Internet governance have significantly intensified ahead of the upcoming UN Summit of the Future. In this session, participants will explore the prospective future of the Internet governance model, including the role of the technical community in ensuring Internet stability, openness and resilience, and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead.

Hans Petter Holen, CEO and Managing Director of the RIPE NCC, will give an update on the RIPE NCC’s information security risk management practices and other ongoing compliance efforts.

Assessing the Impact of Sanctions on Connectivity and Internet Communities

In this session, we will discuss the findings of a research project commissioned by the RIPE NCC on ‘Sanctions and the Internet’ which looks at the impact of sanctions on the Internet’s core functions and operations, and explores solutions to mitigate their unintended consequences on connectivity, end users and Internet governance.
