| To RARE-IP'ers
|
|
| UNINET-ZA, the South (and southern) African academic and research network
| has an IP network, consisting of about 25 nodes, linked over leased
| digital lines (mostly 64000b/s). Cisco routers are used on the "core"
| network of about 8 nodes, while the remaining nodes, mostly serving single
| sites, use PC routers, running PCroute software.
|
| Our management system for this network has hitherto been rather informal,
| and we are now looking into formalising it. I would like to get into
| contact with persons rsponsible for the management of similar IP networks
| in the RARE community, with a view to learning from their experience.
|
| UNINET-ZA is an Associate National Member of RARE.
