I know someone who, when asked, says something like

	I never respond to C/R challenges for mail I sent; if the
	receiver doesn't care any more than that about the mail, I
	can't be bothered to.

	I always respond to C/R challenges for mail I didn't send; it's
	the quickest and easiest way to shut such brokenware up.

Myself...I usually take approximately that stance myself.
