Dear all,

(Apologies for any duplicate mails)

The RIPE NCC is pleased to announce its new model test-box for the
Test-Traffic Measurements (TTM) service. This machine offers several
advantages over the test-boxes that have previously been installed:

 * A 1u high cabinet. This means that the machine only takes a quarter
of the rack space compared to the old model.

 * Hardware support for the machines will be transferred to the Dell sales
organization in your country, with next business day support at your
office. This eliminates the need to send broken test-boxes back to
Amsterdam and will increase the uptime of the machine.

 * 2 Network Interface Cards (NIC's).
This will allow you to assign 2 addresses to the machine and connect
it to 2 border routers. The test-box can then be used to measure
delays and latencies through 2 different upstream providers. For more
details about this, please refer to:

These machines offer all features that are currently being offered on the
test-boxes, including the WWW interface to the data announced last week.
For a full list of features, please see:

A public demo of the WWW interface is available at:

The old test-box model will remain test-box will available. This model is
recommended for sites that need a 3rd NIC or other special hardware.
When in doubt, please contact us at ttm@localhost.

Test-boxes can be ordered online at:

For more information about the TTM service in general, please see:

For sites interested in upgrading their existing test-boxes, we offer the
possibility of a trade-in. If you return a test-box from series A or B
(serial numbers tt02 to tt47), we will offer a 400 Euro discount on the
new box. For details please email us at ttm@localhost.

Kind regards,

Henk Uijterwaal
