RIPE NCC webinars are free for our members. Each webinar is one hour or two hours long depending on the topic. You can also ask our trainers any questions you might have during live webinars.

You can register for a webinar by logging into the LIR portal. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to access the webinar after registration.

RIPE Atlas Basics

1 hour

Learn how to use RIPE Atlas measurements for network monitoring and troubleshooting. This webinar is aimed a network operators who have general knowledge about IP networking, DNS and BGP, as well as a programming language such as Java or Python.

Pre-requisites:

  • You have a RIPE NCC Access account
  • You have logged in and visited atlas.ripe.net web pages
  • You have earned at least 20,000 "credits" by either hosting a RIPE Atlas probe or, as a RIPE NCC member, claiming your 1,000,000 credits.

Goals:

  • Use RIPE Atlas measurements for network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Use API calls to create measurements
  • Integrate RIPE Atlas with existing monitoring systems

RIPEstat

2 hours

Learn how to use RIPEstat for troubleshooting your network. Find routing information about other networks to enable decision making and troubleshooting.

Pre-requisites:

  • Basic knowledge of networks
  • How the Internet works
  • Basic knowledge of IPs, ASNs, domains
  • Knowledge of the RIPE Database

Goals:

  • Troubleshoot your networks using routing information about other networks
  • Make routing decisions based on RIPEstat information

Using RIPE Atlas

2 hours

Monitor your network and troubleshoot it with RIPE Atlas. Create specific tailor-made measurements that suit your exact needs using API calls or the command line interface.

Pre-requisites:

  • Basic knowledge of networks
  • How the Internet works
  • Basic knowledge of IP, ASN, domains
  • Familiarity with pings and traceroutes

Goals:

  • Monitor your network using RIPE Atlas measurements
  • Troubleshoot your network using measurements from RIPE Atlas
  • Use the RIPE Atlas command line interface and the API to create tailor-made measurements

Introduction to the RIPE Database Webinar

1 hour

This free RIPE NCC Webinar will help LIRs understand how to work with the RIPE Database. You will learn how the different RIPE Database objects are connected to each other and how you can create objects.

Pre-requisites: None

Goals:

  • Understand the relationship between different RIPE Database objects
  • Know where to find the necessary information to work with the RIPE Database
  • Identify the main types of objects in the RIPE Database
  • Create/update objects in the RIPE Database
  • Use flags to make more precise RIPE Database queries

RIPE Database - Advanced Topics Webinar

1 hour

Deepen your knowledge of how the RIPE Database works.

Pre-requisites: Before attending this Webinar, you should already know how to create person, role and maintainer objects in the RIPE Database.

Goals:

  • Understand where to find the necessary information to work with the RIPE Database
  • Create/update objects in the RIPE Database (route, domain, inetnum)
  • Understand what 'hierarchical authorisation' is in the RIPE Database (mnt-lower, mnt-routes, mnt-domains)

RIPE Database Basics

2 hours

This webinar will give you a hands-on introduction to the RIPE Database - what it is and how it works. You will learn how to query the RIPE Database and how to create and update objects

Pre-requisites:

  • What an LIR is
  • Basic knowledge of IP addresses and AS Numbers
  • Basic knowledge of BGP
  • Basic knowledge of DNS

Goals:

  • Describe the RIPE Database and its purpose
  • Query the RIPE Database using flags and options
  • Create and update objects in the RIPE Database using Webupdates

RIPE Database Applications

2 hours

This webinar shows you how to use the RIPE Database to register PA assignments and sub-allocations. You will learn to register objects in the RIPE Routing Registry and how to request reverse delegation for your address space.

Pre-requisites: RIPE Database Basics webinar

Goals:

  • Register PA assignments in the RIPE Database
  • Create IPv4 and IPv6 sub-allocations
  • Register objects in the RIPE Routing Registry
  • Request reverse delegation for your address space
