Due to heavy demand for files served by www.ripe.net, the website became unavailable on Friday, 17 October at approximately 13:00 (UTC). This service outage lasted until approximately 13:10 (UTC), when load balancing software took over and normal service was resumed.
The files that were requested have been removed and after investigations we found out that it was caused by one of our TTM clients sending too many requests. The client was contacted and the problem was fixed. We will ensure the same issue will not affect the RIPE NCC website again.
