Interruption to Billing Services in LIR Portal

Scheduled maintenance in LIR Portal's billing section 3 June 2016.

Non-critical Websites Interruption

Some of our non-critical websites (www.enog.org, RIPE Meeting websites) experienced intermittent issues between 15:08 and 15:22 CEST today. We investigated this and resolved the problem. Normal service has resumed.

Reverse DNS Outage

Between 2016-05-18 06:41 and 2016-05-20 09:00 UTC, our reverse DNS provisioning system was failing to publish updated zones. Changes made to DOMAIN objects in the RIPE Database were not being published. This issue has now been resolved, and all reverse DNS zones are up to date.

Interruption to Billing Services in LIR Portal

Due to scheduled maintenance, from approximately 19:00 to 20:00 UTC+2 on 14 April there will be an interruption to the Billing section in the LIR Portal. During this period, members will be unable to pay invoices or make online payments to the RIPE NCC.

Reverse DNS Provisioning Issue

We have identified an issue with our DNS provisioning infrastructure. This is causing delays to all domain object updates within the 185.in-addr.arpa reverse DNS delegation. Updates within 185.in-addr.arpa are not applying automatically into the corresponding DNS zone. As a result, if you update a domain object within 185.in-addr.arpa, it may take up to one day to appear in DNS, until we fix the underlying issue.

Interruption to Billing Services in LIR Portal

Due to scheduled maintenance, from approximately 19:00 to 20:00 UTC+2 on 17 March there will be an interruption to the Billing section in the LIR Portal.

Archived: Planned Interruption to Whois Database Service

From approximately 17:00 to 17:45 UTC on Monday, 18 January, there was a planned interruption to the Whois database service. This caused a brief interruption to updates but no query downtime. Normal service has been resumed.

Archived: RIPE Authoritative DNS Services Temporary Degradation

On the evening of Saturday, 16 January, between 20:45 and 21:05 UTC, we received an unusually large amount of incoming traffic on the servers for the RIPE Authoritative DNS services. The volume of traffic was overflowing our inbound connections. This severely impacted our Authoritative DNS services while the attack was ongoing. This attack was quite similar to the incident we reported earlier this week. However, an important difference was that this time the attack traffic was directed at the RIPE NCC DNS services directly. Normal service was restored soon after the attack finished.
