Network Outage Affecting Multiple Services

Starting at around 7:00 (UTC) on 22 August 2020, a partial, intermittent network outage affected a number of our services, including the RIPE Database, the LIR Portal and our RPKI infrastructure. This issue was resolved the following morning at around 1:00 (UTC) and all services are functioning normally again.

The issue was caused by a network problem, which led to a small fraction of incoming network traffic being discarded by one of our edge routers. The malfunctioning router was reset. A planned upgrade scheduled for 31 August 2020 should prevent the recurrence of this issue.
