DNS Resolution Issues

You’re viewing an archived page. It is no longer being updated.

From 12:00 - 14:30 (UTC+2), the following list of zones experienced DNS resolution problems due to expired DNSSEC signatures. Anyone using a validating resolver during that time would not have been able to resolve names in these domains.

Further details: Our DNSSEC signer had stopped refreshing signatures in zones that had not been recently modified. This caused the signatures to expire. We resolved it by forcing a serial number update of all the zones.

We did not have monitoring for this kind of failure, and we're about to add this, so that we're aware of such an issue before it becomes a problem. We also have a bug report open with the DNSSEC signer vendor to figure out why it suddenly stopped its daily signature refresh.
