Draft version of the new TTM Data Disclosure Policy

Dear All,

As you probably know, the RIPE NCC plans to lower the service fee for the
Test Boxes in 2004 from 3000 to 1000 euro's/year and at the same time open
up the data to a wider audience.

Earlier this year, the current test box hosts were polled about this idea
and showed overwhelming support. The next step is to actually implement
this. This needs a re-write of the Data Disclosure Policy.

A draft version has just been published as:

  http://www.ripe.net/ttm/RIPE_180_bis.pdf PDF
  http://www.ripe.net/ttm/RIPE_180_bis.txt Plain ASCII

This is a complete re-write of the existing policy (RIPE 180) and
significantly reduces the current restrictions on the publication of the
data and makes the data available to a wider audience. At the same time,
the policy still aims to prevent potential abuse of the data as much as
possible. It is expected that this new policy will lead to a wider use of
the data and the development of more products based on the TTM data, both
by participating sites and the community in general.

This version is published to solicit input from all parties. Comments are
invited on the tt-wg@localhost list before 9 December 2003.

Kind regards,

Henk
