This should have been fixed a few hours ago, please mail me if you still have problems accessing the page. From henk at ripe.net Wed Jul 26 15:26:35 2000 From: henk at ripe.net (Henk Uijterwaal (RIPE-NCC)) Date: Wed, 26 Jul 2000 15:26:35 +0200 (CEST) Subject: TTM as a regular service Message-ID: Dear Colleagues, I have put a new version of the "TTM as a regular service" document on the RIPE-NCC website at: http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/mem-services/ttm/#docs The document number is 209, please select your favorite format. This version is currently being turned into a legally correct service contract by our lawyers. So-far, they have indicated that everything in the draft, can be legally implemented. Obviously, the contract itself will also be published once it is ready. New in this version is section (2.4) on the transistion for the current test-box hosts from the current to the new model. Since we (obviously) don't want to lose any existing site when going to a regular service, we really like to get some feedback from the current hosts. Please send any questions or comments that you might have to tt-wg at ripe.net. Note that in order to post to that list, you have to be subscribed to it. Mail to majordomo at ripe.net for instructions on how to subscribe. For the people asking me about test-boxes: the interface between PC and GPS receiver is being manufactured as we speak and all order components have been ordered and should be here late August. We plan to have all documents, as well as a glossy for your manager, ready by RIPE37, so we can ship out the first boxes soon after that. Absolutely. After I sent out my previous mail, I got a first draft from our lawyers that include a paragraph that seems to accomplish this. I'm a bit reluctant to already put the draft on the net though, as it is really a first draft that definitely needs a round of editting. Just two comments at the minute: 1. The way in which membership (section 2.3) is handled is simple and straightforward. However, at current levels of LIR-service fees, it's not equitable; a 'small' LIR taking TTM service gets bumped up two levels to 'large', but a 'large' LIR gets no benefit at all. It would be slightly fairer if TTM service moved you up one category, though still unfair to 'large' LIRs. Perhaps this needs to be looked at in the overall context of categories and charges for **all** services. 2. The service contract needs to be carefully worded especially when it comes to disclosure of results. The views of RIPE NCC and of the service community need to be reflected, and protected, here. All the best.
