From henk at ripe.net Thu Apr 1 12:27:53 1999 From: henk at ripe.net (Henk Uijterwaal (RIPE-NCC)) Date: Thu, 1 Apr 1999 12:27:53 +0200 (CEST) Subject: New colleague, New Test-boxes Message-ID: Dear all, A couple of weeks ago, we announced that the RIPE-NCC had a new series of test-boxes ready for installation. 18 sites replied to that email and have been selected to host a test-box. Configuration of the boxes will start next week and we hope to have all boxes shipped before the next RIPE meeting. Today, Fotis Georgatos (fotis at ripe.net) joined the Test-Traffic group as a Junior Network Engineer. Fotis will be, amongst other things, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the test-boxes as well as the installation of new test-boxes. However, email regarding day-to-day operations or installation, should not be sent to his personal address, but, as before, to tt-ops at ripe.net. tt-ops at ripe.net is read by 3 people, so you will get a faster reply. It is also connected to a ticketing system, which makes it easier for us to keep track of the work that is being done on the various test-boxes. If you have already installed the box, please ignore this mail and sorry for the inconvenience. */ One of the hosts of the new series of test-boxes asked if we have an installation manual for the test-boxes. We do not have a separate manual, however installation of the box as well as day-to-day operations are described in RIPE-168. This document is available in several formats from our web-site: http://www.ripe.net/test-traffic Section 3 describes the installation of the test-box, section 4 day-to-day operations of the box. If you have any questions left after reading the document, please do not hesitate to contact us at tt-ops at ripe.net.
