After one more look at the modification date of /home/risops/bin/riswhoisd I suddenly saw the light and realised what might cause the premature death of the child process. Will spare you all details, bottom line is that calling free() multiple times for the same const char* is not a good idea :) I've protected the code from doing that, now riswhoisd again seems to do the right thing upon receiving a HUP signal. The final check will be in ~4 hours, when the daemon should have processed a new set of BGP table dumps. -- Rene From "ryn999 at " at 126.com Thu Nov 4 03:56:26 2004 From: "ryn999 at " at 126.com (=?GB2312?B?wfXPyMn6?=) Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2004 10:56:26 +0800 Subject: [ris-int] =?GB2312?B?wM+w5cT6usM=?= Message-ID: <20041104024906.06C0889C4C@postboy.ripe.net> ?????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????,????????????????.?????????????????? ?????????????????? ?? ???? ???? ?????????? ??????????13535599081 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ // ???????? Old Beacon prefixes will replace with new one. This will be done by OPS. Henk is contact with Z. Morley about using of Beacons. She has a request to reach RRC boxes and do the chnages on Beacon prefixes as they need. RIS people do not think it's a good idea. o RRC13 & RRC14 - Arife will follow up where we are the installation of those two boxes. o BGPlay - There is some bug fixes, Lorenzo will apply those changes and also arrange an announcement to RIS users. Lorenzo also has a request to use one of the Beacon prefixes for his reasearch project to study the BGP behaviour when AS number is also a part of an AS-set. Notable fixes in this release include: - Depending on the exact query interval input by the user and the sequence of BGP updates preceding it, previous versions of BGPlay sometimes generated an incorrect initial AS graph. This has been corrected. - If the query interval was spread over multiple days, BGPlay would sometimes not display all BGP updates on the last day. - BGPlay no longer crashes when it encounters an AS-set. - Mouse wheel scrolling has been much improved: the animation window no longer scrolls one pixel at a time. - Better error handling and reporting BGPlay is a tool to visualise BGP updates in the Routing Information Service (RIS) database. An animated, interactive graphical display makes it easier to interpret how BGP updates affect the routing of a specific prefix. For an idea of what BGPlay can do, please visit the BGPlay web page at: http://www.ris.ripe.net/bgplay/ Click on the screenshot for interactive help. Please note that BGPlay requires the Java browser plug-in version 1.4 or above (this is available for download at http://www.java.com/en/download/ ). BGPlay was developed by the Computer Networks Research Group at Roma Tre University and is hosted by the RIPE NCC, who provide direct access to the RIS database.
