This happens for Mediaplayer/WindowsXP and mplayer/Linux and for any of the sources listed on http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/webcast.html, so I assume this is a general problem. Also, when trying to view the stream over IPv6 with mplayer on Linux, I get [...] Playing mms://webcast6.ripe.net/ripemtg. Resolving webcast6.ripe.net for AF_INET6... Connecting to server webcast6.ripe.net[2001:610:240:5:1755::1]:80 ... Connect error : Permission denied Resolving webcast6.ripe.net for AF_INET... Connect error : Connection refused [...] Port 80 is filtered and port 1755 has no IPv6 listener. I don't know how the mms protocol works, but comparing with IPv4 suggests that only port 1755 is actually needed. -- Alex From monika at ermert.info Mon Jan 26 14:38:07 2004 From: monika at ermert.info (Monika Ermert) Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 14:38:07 +0100 Subject: [ripecast] webcast? We are reconfiguring this machine during the next break to try and fix the problem. It is. As all of our mirrors get their stream from this server, and thus problems with that server do affect all of our downstreams. > Also, when trying to view the stream over IPv6 with mplayer on Linux, > I get Adding an IPv6 stack to the machine was the only thing that changed since RIPE 46. Under test conditions, it seemed to have behaved as expected, but unfortunately under operating conditions it seems to fail, and cause problems for the machine's IPv4 streaming. Accordingly, we are going to remove the IPv6 stack during the next break (10:30 - 11:00 today, GMT+0100) which will hopefully bring back reliability to the external streams. Unfortunately, we won't have any IPv6 streaming from the office (but you can still get your IPv6 streaming fix from CESNET: mms://server6.streaming.cesnet.cz/ripemtg) as a consequence. Message-ID: <20040128155328.GA47715@xs4all.nl> Hello Bruce, I noticed that there is no link yet to an archive of ripe-47 sessions. Guessing from previous meeting URLs, it will be at http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/webcast-archive.html Indeed the page is ready, but without archived sessions. My question is, when will the archived sessions be available, and if you could put a link to the archive page from the main webcast page . As a side effect of changing the presentation of the archived sessions, my intended auto-updating of pages hasn't been occuring. Last night I updated the pages for Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's pages, and prepared a bulk update for today and tomorrow (which you'll seen soonish). http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/ripe-47/sessions-archive.html is the new all-in-one page.
