Dear Colleagues,

   at the last RIPE meeting we decided that a review of the first year of
   operations of the RIPE NCC should take place.

   It was also decided that the review panel would initially consist of:
      
      o the RIPE Chairs

      o the RIPE WG Chairs

      o the RIPE NCC Manager

   The review is open to any RIPE participant, but the above mentioned
   persons are explicitly tasked to do some work.

   The work will consist in evaluating the first 12 months of operations of
   the RIPE NCC. In order to do this in a structured way, the following
   documents serve as mandatory reading material:

      o ripe-35     RIPE NCC Activity Plan

      o ripe-62     RIPE NCC Quarterly report Issue 1

      o ripe-73     RIPE NCC Quarterly report Issue 2

      o ripe-79     RIPE NCC Quarterly report Issue 3

      o ripe-87     RIPE NCC Quarterly report Issue 4 

   The result of this exercise will be a report stating

      o which activities have been succesfully implemented

      o which activities are behind schedule

      o which activities have been taken up, though they were not foreseen in
	the original activity plan

      o conclusions

   The intended time schedule for this work is to have a report ready by the
   end of June.
