Dear Nigel, RS Management, got a quick question about the procedure outlined below. On 7/13/16 2:41 PM, Nigel Titley wrote: [...] > The RIPE NCC has been working on an implementation plan since the GM. > This plan has been put forward to make sure that the ability to open > additional LIR accounts is in line with the spirit of RIPE Policy. Does this mean that only the application to open 2+ LIRs will be processed one at a time or also the requests for resources? I am asking this with the following scenario in my mind: Company A needs 4k IPs. They become member and then open 3 other LIR accounts. They then, once the 1 membership + 3 LIR accounts have been paid for, send 4 requests (one after the other in a very short period of time) for the /22s to the RIPE NCC with the intent to get 4 contiguous /22s (a /20 after 2 years - once they merge/consolidate the 4 LIRs into one). Considering that the policy still mentions 4 goals of the internet registry, one of which is aggregation: https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-649#3 If one company sends 4 requests, one after the other, will the RIPE NCC respect this goal and allocate the 4 /22s in a contiguous block that can, after two years, be aggregated? - what if they open 64 LIRs and send 64 requests at the same time with the intent of receiving a /16? Or, will a second LIR be accepted - activated by the RIPE NCC - only once the previous one has been activated and has received the /22 ? Looking forward for an answer from the RIPE NCC on this matter. I have asked this question in Moscow at ENOG but the answer was not very clear. Regards, Elvis
