Who's at fault? The hotel asking for it, or the person actually sending it acros the net, or, again, the hotel for expecting the customer to send it ... :-/ Then again, the number of sites that actually use opportunistic encryption over SMTP is increasing, so at least _that_ is heading the right way. OTOH, going back to fax is not to head the right way, and the RIPE meetings are the _only_ Internet conferences I know of where handwritten forms and modem signals over circuit switched networks is still the expected way of registering at hotels ... :-/ Cheers, /Liman #---------------------------------------------------------------------- # Lars-Johan Liman, M.Sc. ! This project comes in response to feedback received via the RIPE NCC Survey 2013 and various other feedback mechanisms. The specific action items identified in the survey were to: - Improve navigation, structure and usability - Improve the search functionality Work on the website will take place throughout 2014, and we will involve RIPE NCC members and the RIPE community in the project at various stages. We'll be asking for feedback via a survey on our website, conducting interviews with users and reporting back at all stages on developments. From next week, we will also deploy a web analytics tool on our website to help us better understand how it is being used. We will use Piwik for this purpose, free/open-source software that is installed on our own servers. The information gathered will be anonymised, it will not leave our network and the software will obey the "Do Not Track" option for those who would prefer not to have their activity on the website measured. The data will be used solely to help us improve the website. More information on Piwik is available at: http://piwik.org/ All the feedback on the website received in the RIPE NCC Survey 2013, including the full list of action areas for the RIPE NCC, is available at: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/member-support/info/surveys/ripe-ncc-survey-2013 If you have any questions or comments about the project, please let me know.
