[RIPE Atlas Ambassadors] RIPE Atlas for Saudi Arabia - how come so many abandoned?

...is there a way to find out how many of the 'abandoned' ones are actually V1 probes?

A while ago, quite a few have been killed by an automatic firmware upgrade that went
astray. Those probes never came back on-line and - as much as I know - cannot be revived
in the field :-(
