From nigel at titley.com Thu Apr 2 16:09:59 2015 From: nigel at titley.com (Nigel Titley) Date: Thu, 02 Apr 2015 15:09:59 +0100 Subject: [ncc-announce] [GM] RIPE NCC Charging Scheme and ASNs Message-ID: <551D4DB7.4000404@titley.com> Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board met last night to review the discussions regarding charging for AS Numbers. We feel that there was no really conclusive outcome to the discussion, so we will ask members to vote on the issue at the General Meeting (GM) on the 13th of May 2015. There will therefore be two resolutions on charging at the GM: - Members will be asked to vote to approve or reject the Charging Scheme 2016 that was published on 24 March: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/may-2015/supporting-documents - Members will also be asked to vote to approve or reject a resolution that would instantiate a EUR 50 charge per ASN The figure of EUR 50 was chosen to be equal to that for PI allocations, in the spirit of 2007-01. All supporting documents and the final agenda will be posted by the RIPE NCC on the 15th of April. We would like to thank all those who contributed to the recent discussion. We will continue to monitor the members-discuss mailing list should you wish to continue the discussion there. Finally, we encourage all members to register to vote at the GM so that the outcome of the voting reflects the wishes of as many RIPE NCC members as possible. https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/may-2015/registration-information Best regards, Nigel Titley RIPE NCC Executive Board Chairman From tim at ripe.net Thu Apr 2 17:14:52 2015 From: tim at ripe.net (Tim Bruijnzeels) Date: Thu, 2 Apr 2015 17:14:52 +0200 Subject: [ncc-announce] [news] Phase 1 of Deprecation of "changed:" Attribute Deployed to RIPE Database Release Candidate Environment Message-ID: Dear colleagues, The RIPE Database Working Group has asked the RIPE NCC to replace the ?changed:? attribute in the RIPE Database with ?created:? and ?last-modified:?. The draft minutes of these meetings are now available: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/minutes/2015 The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meetings. Further details are available in the minutes. At the 98th Executive Board meeting: - The Board resolved that LIRs must pay the full annual fee for the year in question before commencement of a merger/transfer/closure procedure of an LIR account. - The Board proposes to continue with the existing charging scheme model with a lower service fee for 2016. The EUR 50 PI fee will remain and the fee for Legacy Resource holders with a direct contract will pay the same annual fee as LIRs. - The Board reviewed the agenda for the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) and the supporting documents for the meeting. - The Board approved the continued extension of the voting window for the GM until the Friday morning of the RIPE Meeting at 09:00 until further notice. - The Board noted that the intention of RIPE Policy Proposal 2014-04 is not to destimulate the adoption of IPv6. - The Board discussed the proposed Joint RIR Stability Fund. This fund is intended to safeguard the RIR system in the unlikely event of an RIR requiring financial assistance. The RIPE NCC would reserve an amount that would contribute towards this Joint RIR Stability Fund. At the 99th Executive Board meeting: - The Board reviewed the membership discussion on charging for ASNs and noted that there was no conclusive outcome. The Board decided to have a resolution at the GM asking members to approve or reject a EUR 50 charge for ASNs. - The Board approved the RIPE NCC Annual Report 2014 including the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2014.
