The reason for the upgrade was that in the old system registries could have multiple e-mail addresses and contact persons, but there was no logical connection between the two. In the new set-up, every registry has one generic e-mail address that also shows up in the RIPE Database ORGANISATION object. If your organisation was using more e-mail addresses, the first one was used for this. Additional e-mail addresses were matched to existing contacts, or in case they couldn't be matched, new contacts were made for them. This change was necessary for future development of our portal services and registry database. Please log in to LIR Portal if you want to verify or change your contact details. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to sw-bugs at ripe.net. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
