From jim at rfc1035.com Tue May 6 16:09:06 2008 From: jim at rfc1035.com (Jim Reid) Date: Tue, 6 May 2008 15:09:06 +0100 Subject: [dnssec-key-tf] presentation to DNS WG at RIPE56 Message-ID: <989F46A3-9971-4057-81DF-6C2EBDB728BB@rfc1035.com> Here's the presentation/report I propose to give to the WG tomorrow. Please scream if you have any comments or complaints. The bulk of the slides cover the text of the letter we have agreed and appears to have consensus from the WG. My intention is to ask for the WG to endorse the letter and then have it sent as a statement from the DNS WG. [It's better that way IMO because it talks of us helping ICANN with documentation for the TAR: that's a TAR or WG commitment rather than one from the RIPE community.] Once that letter's sent, I think this TF's work is essentially done. It can go into hibernation as the IANA TAR comes on stream. And of course the TAR can be revived or killed depending on how the IANA effor progresses. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I'd add a couple of slides at the beginning that will not make the report longer but may very well make it more clear: * Task force 'Charter' - Develop Requirements for Service - Come back to WG with requiremetns and suggestions or implementing service * What we did - Developed requirements - Liaised with RIPE NCC - Liaised with the IANA * Status Quo - IANA is preparing to offer a TA-Repository shortly - We have requirements - We believe IANA is the right place if the requiremetns are satisfied - Thus ..... Just a suggestion. If the aim of the whole presentation is to look for in-room consensus, we need to carry across the message very clearly about what people are consenting in. I realise the slides are too busy. However I felt it would be best to walk through the letter and clarify its key points even though the letter has already been circulated to the WG list. > - add a thanks slide to the TF paritcipants and anyone else who sent > comments in Will do, thanks Joao. I have left the text of the letter in as a fine with me. We should make sure a pointer to appears in the minutes and also that even though the headline says "DS key registry" the Board resolution text uses the term "Trust Anchor Repository", which is probably more technology neutral. -Peter From daniel.karrenberg at ripe.net Wed May 7 11:22:14 2008 From: daniel.karrenberg at ripe.net (Daniel Karrenberg) Date: Wed, 7 May 2008 11:22:14 +0200 Subject: [dnssec-key-tf] revised presentation for DNS WG tomorrow In-Reply-To: <9062BDC2-461B-4801-B864-0296F3C3DD79@rfc1035.com> References: <9062BDC2-461B-4801-B864-0296F3C3DD79@rfc1035.com> Message-ID: <20080507092214.GY341@reiftel.local> On 06.05 22:50, Jim Reid wrote: > Here's an updated presentation taking into account the comments from > Daniel, Joao and Marcos.
