DNSMON and RIPE Atlas
=========================

As announced at RIPE 64 (April 2012, Ljubljana), the RIPE NCC plans
to phase out TTM service and move active measurements to RIPE Atlas,
enriched with Atlas Anchors, in 2013.

The current DNSMON service relays on measurements done on TTM boxes.
We are committed to the continuation of the DNSMON service and plan to
smoothly integrate it into RIPE Atlas.

Any changes will be gradual and we will notify users well in advance
of any operational changes.

Dear DNSMON users,

last week I wrote to announce changes for DNSMON services in 2013.

RIPE NCC Executive Board has now published a proposal for the modified 
Charging Scheme for membership:

... and this is the paragraph that mentions DNSMON:

> Non-members that are currently charged fees for using specific
> services, such as DNSMON, and new Direct Assignment Users must become
> members. The same rationale as mentioned above would apply for these
> members. Organisations that wish to support the RIPE NCC or
> particular activities should become members.

If accepted, this change will affect your contractual agreement with
the RIPE NCC in 2013.

If you are already a member of the RIPE NCC, you might be aware of the 
discussion that is going on at the members-discuss mailing list:
