Jim, Totally agree. Let’s not forget all the other initiatives to replace whois over the past 20 years; RWhois, RLDAP, IRIS, and WIERDS. While I applaud the efforts to reform directory services using methods other than nicname with web front ends. It’s a long difficult path that has yet to make any tangible progress.
