This workshop is about DNSSEC. Is there anybody that knows something about this? I have not found any information about this. That someone was probably me. :-) Yes, there was a workshop on secure DNS in Knivsta, near Stockholm, Sweden, on May 18-19. DNS technicians from various ISPs and consultants in Sweden participated, as well as a few invited people from, most notably, Internet Software Consortium (that writes the BIND code) and Network Solutions. The goal was to see if how well current software implements the protocol, and, more important, to try to understand the consequences and the impact deploying secure DNS will have on domain registries in general, and national top level domain registries in particular. There is a report from the event, written by a lady that doesn't really have a detailed knowledge about DNS, but has fair knowledge about security, and has the BIG advandage of being able to get reports out of her hands. :-) It should be available on the web shortly, and I intend to mail the URL to this list, when the document is available. Please don't hesitate to mail me, if I can be of further assitance. Cheers, /Liman #---------------------------------------------------------------------- # Lars-Johan Liman ! (For the impatient: http://www.TechFak.Uni-Bielefeld.DE/~pk/dns/draft-koch-dns-soa-values-01.txt.gz) This is the "very short" document out of our series of three. It was discussed during the IETF meeting in Minneapolis, where concerns were raised regarding the relationship to earlier RFCs (1537 and 1912). This has been clarified and the target audience and design goals are layed out more precisely. The values have remained unchanged since the presentation in Amsterdam, although a note has been added that this set does not claim to be the optimal nor that such optimum exists. They are, however, a working solution for the target audience (less experienced DNS maintainer of small and stable zone). We should be able to cover 70%+ of the cases. I've never heard of it.. maybe namedroppers is a better forum for specific bind-problems. Last time I was on namedroppers it was @lists.internic.net or there about - check with their listserv/majordomo. -- Robert Martin-Leg?ne / Null ! robert at irc.ircnet.dk Hi! I'm a .signature virus!
