I am glad to hear, that there finally is the opportunity to store haikus (and other poetry) in the database. I am quite sure, that the discussions about the content of the descr: field in the poetic-form objects will lead to a satisfying solution for everyone. But while I am happy to see the new possibilities for variety in the database, I also feel a little bit sad about the good old limerick object. When I first proposed the haiku object[1] which started the whole discussion, I just wanted to expand our capabilities. But I didn't mean to kill the limerick. I know that the limerick will now probably have a better life, now that it is generic. But I feel sad anyhow. Sorry, limerick, that you had to die. And sorry haiku, that you never had the chance to be an object for yourself. I wrote a haiku and a limerick about that topic. Maybe they might help others who feel just as melancholy as me: POEM-HAIKU-OBJECT POEM-LIMERICK-OBJECT Robert [1] http://www.ripe.net/ripe/maillists/archives/db-wg/2004/msg00223.html
